Étaín

Étaín is the heroine of The Wooing of Étaín, a tale of the Irish Mythological Cycle. Transformed by a jealous sorceress into a pool, a worm, and then a scarlet fly, she is reborn as a mortal queen with no memory of her past. The fairy king Midir, whose otherworldly mound Brí Léith is associated with Ardagh Hill, pursues her across two lifetimes.
