Llangorse Lake
Bannau Brycheiniog, Powys, Wales
Llangorse Lake, or Llyn Syfaddan, was recorded by Gerald of Wales as a place of strange phenomena. Local tradition tells of a drowned settlement beneath the water whose bells can be heard on still days. A royal crannog, an artificial island associated with the kings of Brycheiniog, has been archaeologically confirmed in the lake.
